By 11:30 a.m. with 1,656 voters processed, chief election officer Teri Ayers’ operation at Robinson Secondary School still ran somewhat of a line. But she said she was still encouraged by their ability with the Ipads and paper ballots to move people through the process quickly.

At 5:45 a.m., Colleen Dewing was queued up for a lifetime first: voting. The West Springfield High School senior needed to fulfill her civic duty early in order to take a shift right away at the senior class’ annual bake sale outside the school.
