Hispanic Leadership Alliance vice president Teddi Predaris (left) presents the Language Acquisition scholarship to Reynaldo González Martínez (right), a recent graduate of Mountain View High School. Martínez left school at age 12 to assist on the family farm in Guatemala. He came to the United States at 17 and worked two jobs to support his family and sick father. He left one job at age 21 and decided to go back to school. He graduated in February with a 3.6 GPA and is now beginning classes at Northern Virginia Community College. He plans to fulfill his dream of becoming an automotive mechanic.
